Engine back in the car

Finally got my engine back in the car. It started out with some quickjack issues. The passenger side would go down. Eventually after lubing it over the course of days and working it at the limit it went down. Unfortunately when I got the car off I saw the scary condition of the rear pivot. So what you’re looking at is it shearing right along the weld line and starting to peel open. That’s some pretty thin gauge metal in there.

The engine itself was a bit of a PITA to get to ride up the spine of the drive shaft. The QJ didn’t allow me to go further to one side, so it was swinging as I pushed it on, changing the angle. Eventually I got a ratchet strap around it so I could keep tension on it and got it on enough to pull it home with the bolts.

For now I put it on casters to the side of the garage. I need to figure out what I want to do about the Quickjacks and I might not have time to work on it for a bit so who knows if I’ll get enough warm weather in late November.
