Back together: MPI hubs, knuckles, helper springs

I got the car back together. The parts I ordered off ebay they shipped me two right knuckles instead of a pair and it was the left I really needed. I ended up hunting one down Friday evening and driving an hour away to pick up a knuckle locally. A buddy helped me press in the original ball joint. It seemed to have survived unscathed and the one in the used knuckle was garbage. I also put new MPI hubs on both sides. I bought them early this spring, and was waiting for the bearings to get noisy before I swapped, but now is a good time.

While I was in there I installed the helper springs on front coilovers. It enabled me to lower the car another half inch or so. No rubbing, but the rear doesn’t like big kerbs as much. It’ll bottom out on some of them.

The new cam ran pretty well. Very noticeably more power 5k+. The tuner set it up to limit at 7k, which I think I’ll dial back down. However HP is practically flat from 5k-6.5k and every shift at 6.5k puts you right back at 5k. My Vmax didn’t increase as much as I’d expect. I still need to dig into data more. I ran a new PB at autobahn south of 1:34.79. My goal was 1:34, so mission accomplished. I think the car has a 1:33 in it now. I need to trust the ABS a bit more and maybe move over to the dtc-60’s or another more aggressive pad. Plus I still have a lot left on T4-6 there is more speed to be carried there.
