First real autocross today. NS-2r are not an autocross tire. They take a while to get enough heat into them to stick. Run 4 before they felt ‘okay’ and they were barely warm to the touch. The first run was embarrassing. The er-1 pads like a bit of heat in them as well. I slid through a cone wall at the end of a straight. In any case I ended up 2nd in class and 6th in raw time for all entrants. The tires did better in the warmer afternoon.
My first event with the mk60 this weekend. Also brand new Vitour P1’s. The mk60 feels very smooth in comparison to the old oem ABS. I was easily able to use the brakes to help rotate the rear of the car around. The P1’s also ran great. Quick warmup. Similar feel to re71rs I think. …
