First drive: the MK60 works
Last night I got the wheels back on and got to test it for the first time. ABS seems fully functional and I didn’t manage to screw up the rest of the car. The braking feels a lot smoother under ABS than the stock system did. I used to really be able to feel the pulsing on the tires. Now I can feel the first wheel slip and then it just decelerates smoothly.
Also since I was curious I disassembled my old OEM ABS unit to see if there was a smoking gun on failure. Nothing obvious to me. Side note- if you take this apart non-destructively the only way to do it appears to be desolder the first layer green PCB. TBH I have no idea how I’d approach it. All the hair wires I ripped up…. There is a weird clear gel on the blue pcb. It feels like clear jello almost.
