Intermittent ABS fault: chasing a voltage drop, roof wrap
I investigated the wiring and lines. It’s all hooked up correctly. We may be down to a bad hub sensor, sensor converter, or DSC ecu. Though someone posted something interesting on the facebook group that mentioned an intermittent lockup issue. They were having the battery voltage drop enough when the ABS pump went through the startup routine that it would cause an error. The RF sensor is only on startup and the car does have a bit of a drain issue. I’ll keep an eye on it. I may wire in a power switch for the ABS so I can reboot it if I notice an issue. I have the MIL wired up now so it should be easier to identify when it throws a code.
This weekend I’m planning on throwing in a cam. I bought it last fall and planned to do it over winter, but the garage was miserable.
It’s a pretty mild cam designed to work with ls6 beehives. Their dyno was on a 5.3l, but +88hp with a TBSS intake +90mm TB, or 63hp with a stock 5.3. I think the 5.7 will do a bit better. I have a dyno tune scheduled with speed inc in a few weeks so I should have plenty of time to get it .
I also got a new roof decal in today. 27×49 was the overall dimension I printed. Actual measured was 26×48. If I had to print again, I’d probably keep the measured dimensions for the flag and just run bleed out a bit so I don’t risk white showing on the edge wrap. Maybe bump up the saturation a touch. Still…. ‘Merica
