LS6 intake manifold on

Today I worked on installing a ls6 intake manifold. It’s more of a PITA than it appears. After you get it out the early steam tubes don’t work with the newer  manifold as it’s deeper. I pulled my steam tubes and used them as a template to chisel out the ribbing on the bottom where they went. You see a lot of people sand the bottom flat. I was able to leave the majority of the ribbing in. I also massaged the steam tubes a little lower with a mallet.

I also serviced the injectors. They got an ultrasonic bath and a complete new set of seals and filter baskets.

Last up was moving all the bits over to the new intake. The MAP sensor tab was broken on the LS6 intake so I have some RTV on the sides of it and clamping it to vulcanize overnight. I’ll see if I can’t add some zip ties somehow when it’s dry

Tomorrow I’ll get it back in and then it goes to the tuner on monday morning. I’ll be sure to video some dyno pulls.
